Frequently asked questions about speaking at TEDxAberdeen:
We are searching for people with ideas worth sharing. Passion is the key attribute we’re looking for – we want to feel the energy, enthusiasm and belief in the power of each idea. It doesn’t matter if you’re a confident, experienced public speaker, or have never done anything like this before – we are creating a diverse roster of compelling speakers that can inspire our audience.
We are searching for 10-12 speakers for our 2022 event.
As an official TEDxAberdeen speaker, you will get access to expert mentorship and guidance throughout your journey to hone and craft your talk, enabling you to deliver the maximum impact at our event. You’ll also gain excellent exposure locally and nationally, as well as have a fantastic platform to share and spread the idea you’re so passionate about.
Each talk can be 5 to 18 minutes long.
Committing to be an official TEDxAberdeen speaker is a big task, and requires a lot of time in the lead up to the event to ensure you deliver a high quality talk. We require that each of our speakers are dedicated to engaging in our coaching and rehearsing process, working closely with our team throughout the entire journey. This typically involves an 18 week process of coaching, mentoring and refinement of the talk. The key to successful delivery is planning, coaching and of course, rehearse, rehearse and rehearse again.
TEDx talks should not have a commercial agenda, political agendas or inflammatory rhetoric, religious agendas or bad science.
Any speaker applications under the age of 18 must have consent to apply from a parent or guardian.
